Last month, I released an hour-long interview on my YouTube channel featuring the great Father James Mawdsley, where we primarily discussed Jewish messianism and the Blessed Virgin Mary.
We also considered how the Jewish messianic tendency plays itself out in society and how we can avoid falling for it in our own lives, as well as the importance of the traditional liturgy and why Jewish power might be interested in attacking it.
Additionally, we discussed the way Jewish mysticism is used to control narratives and to blur the lines of reality in the popular imagination, and the unique importance of Our Lady amid the current crisis and the Passion of the Church. The video was published on June 19.
On July 3, I received an email from YouTube informing me that the interview had been removed. That same day, I reviewed YouTube’s Community Guidelines on “hate speech” and compared them to the video’s content.
I did not find anything that obviously violated YouTube’s policy, so I appealed the decision, hoping it was a mistake. At the time the video was taken down, it had amassed over 21,000 views.
On July 7, I received a response from YouTube notifying me that the ban would remain in place.
As any good student of Church history knows, Catholic power and Jewish power are fundamentally at odds. Throughout the entirety of European Christendom, Jews were generally restricted from holding political office over Christians. Canon 69 of the Fourth Lateran Council explains as follows:
“It would be too absurd for a blasphemer of Christ to exercise power over Christians. We therefore renew in this canon, on account of the boldness of the offenders, what the council of Toledo providently decreed in this matter: we forbid Jews to be appointed to public offices, since under cover of them they are very hostile to Christians.”
As a result of this longstanding tradition of suppression, Jews have become — understandably — quite hostile to Christian society. It doesn’t take a scholar to see why they might be interested in overturning this system, inverting its order, and undermining its authority.
The Dispatch
Not only does this lead one to consider what appears to be a clear motive behind the Jewish influence at Vatican II, for instance, as well as the post-conciliar posture toward Jews and other non-Christian religions, but it also helps put into perspective much of what we still see today in popular culture.
When someone steps out of line and criticizes Jewish power, allegations of anti-Semitism naturally follow. We saw this just last month with the Austin Franco situation. Name-calling is a means by which institutional Jewish power slanders and demonizes anyone it sees as threatening. Unfortunately, most people follow right along and treat the target as persona non grata.
Catholic political philosopher Frank Wright refers to this strategy as employing “voodoo curses,” which is quite clever and, in many ways, quite true.
But Jewish power has another, far more subtle strategy that is significantly more effective.
If a truly Catholic approach to politics and culture is so uniquely threatening to Jews, then one way to address the issue from their perspective is to control the Catholic Overton window. This happens at media outlets such as Ben Shapiro’s The Daily Wire.
The Daily Wire has hired many big-name Catholics, but not because it is interested in spreading Catholic truth but because they want to control the limits of acceptable Catholic discourse.
This “kosher” Catholicism — at least in the way it has been implemented in the practical order — presents very little obstacle to Jewish power. Matt Fradd, Trent Horn, and many others toe the line just enough to ensure they always remain in the good graces of the religion which, just under 140 years ago, the Jesuit publication La Civilta Cattolica described thusly:
“Judaism … using its diabolic talents … in order to gain access to the structure of the Christian religion, and especially, of Catholicism … needed to make their assault through soldiers not their own, so as to make the fort fall in the name of liberty … in order to overturn the entire edifice of Christianity.” 1
It is time for Catholics to once again become a bulwark against Jewish power, but for that to happen, we must embrace our glorious Catholic Tradition in its fullness, most especially those aspects which are most opposed to modernity.
