The recent Senate hearing of Dr. Anthony Fauci turned into a farce when Republican Senator Rand Paul’s and others’ attempts to get answers on the government’s handling of COVID-19 were met with Fauci invoking his Fifth Amendment right more than 100 times.
Fauci, the former director of the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), appeared before the U.S. Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee this week more than six years after the pandemic began.
Many Americans see Fauci as a villain and as the principal instigator and architect of tyrannical measures, dubious medical treatments, and draconian policies endorsed by the Trump administration. Some commentators have alleged that Fauci got filthy rich through a variety of immoral and unethical practices and engagements during this time.
Contempt of Congress
During the hearing, Fauci refused to answer questions about the origins of the coronavirus and other inquiries on pandemic restrictions, vaccine policies, and internal government communications.
Senator Paul argued that repeatedly invoking the Fifth Amendment raised legitimate questions about accountability. Republicans on the committee have since voted to hold Fauci in contempt of Congress, which is a federal misdemeanor.
Paul also maintained that the American public deserves direct answers about decisions that affected millions of lives with business closures, education loss, mental health issues, the curtailing of civil liberties, and social upheaval.
US bishops were complicit
Equally important for faithful Catholics is that they cannot blame Fauci or the Trump administration alone. They mustn’t forget the despicable role the US Conference of Catholic Bishops played in the COVID-19 nightmare and how they forsook the spiritual well-being of the millions of souls supposedly under their care.
Church leaders cooperated with public health authorities’ radical policies and even became cheerleaders for the jab, which Francis said was an “act of love” to receive. Prelates giddily put the sacraments on hold while liquor stores, casinos, and restaurants stayed open, leaving the faithful exposed to all sorts of wickedness and temptations.
One of the most shameful and scandalous directives in the history of the Church occurred when every diocese in the country suspended public Masses in March 2020.
Churches were closed and the faithful could not attend even the funerals of their loved ones. An increased reliance on live-streamed liturgies became normalized, and, in many cases, as if the situation were not bad enough already in diocesan situations, Mass attendance afterwards remained below pre-pandemic levels.

At the same time, priests of the Society of St. Pius X offered parking lot Masses and conducted “drive thru” confessions. Other courageous clergy, though quite few in number, did the same.
Promoting the dangerous COVID shot
The very same prelates who canceled the sacraments also neglected their duty to speak up against the un-tested vaccines, which in many cases were developed or tested using cell lines originally derived from abortions. The Vatican itself, as well as the aforementioned SSPX, endorsed the shot. Cardinal Cupich in Chicago made it mandatory for archdiocesan employees.
In the aftermath, it became clear — to such an obvious extent that even mainstream media outlets started admitting it — that these were not only harmful but demonstrably deadly. Still, prominent member of the US hierarchy treated Fauci as a sort of prophet.
Theology teacher defends Fauci
The depopulation-by-vaccination program that was pushed by the postconciliar hierarchy at the behest of their globalist puppet masters took deep root. This was evident earlier this week after an ESPN interview involving Pittsburg Steelers quarterback and medical freedom advocate Aaron Rodgers.
Appearing as a guest on The Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers called Fauci an “absolute coward.”
“Are you kidding me? You get a pardon, and you pleaded over 100 times at the White House? What are you scared of, Tony? I thought you were the science. ‘I am science,’ and you get up there and can’t answer a question? What are we doing?” Rodgers, who did not take the COVID shot, mockingly asked.
Backlash from the liberal media was swift. Even conciliar apologists got out their knives for Rodgers.
Rich Raho, a high school theology teacher with 15,000 followers on X, wrote on the platform: “The sickest part of this: here sits Aaron Rodgers at Steelers Training Camp on a Catholic college campus that followed the advice of Fauci and Pope Francis, who said: ‘Getting vaccinated is an act of love.’”
Raho’s post, of course, said more about him and the conciliar church’s mindset than it did about Rodgers.
Ultimately, Catholics need their own “Aaron Rodgers” — plural — and their own “Senate hearings.” If Fauci & Co. committed crimes against humanity, then those in hierarchy who collaborated with them are just as guilty and, moreover, that they are guilty of having committed spiritual crimes against the Mystical Body of Christ.
