Weeks after the Lindsay Clancy jury failed to return a verdict — commonly referred to as a “hung jury” — the lone member who refused to vote for her acquittal has not only been identified but is speaking out.
Unlike his peers, Michael P. Desronvil favored a guilty verdict for the three counts of first degree murder of Clancy’s young children — Cora, Dawson, and Callan. In an exclusive video posted by Fox News anchor Sean Hannity, Desronvil speaks about his religious beliefs.
“I want to thank God for my Catholic faith. I want to thank God for the ability to love my daughter,” he said before also thanking those who supported him throughout this time. He also admirably said that the “focus” should be on the three children who were killed rather than on him.
Judge William Sullivan announced a mistrial in the Clancy case on September 4, 2026, after seven days of deliberation. News quickly revealed that the jury was split 11-1 in favor of acquittal.
The fact that a majority of the jurors would move for acquittal was shocking to anyone even remotely following the case. Clancy brutally murdered her three small children in a systematic and premeditated fashion. Nor did she deny the murders. Instead, she pled not guilty on account of her mental status, which was allegedly impaired due to postpartum psychosis.
The Dispatch
Equally shocking was the unexpected widespread national support she received from women both online and from those who held rallies at the courthouse each day. Despite the massive publicity surrounding the trial, Judge Sullivan did not sequester the jury, that is, isolate them from the public, the media, and their families for the duration of a trial or during deliberations.

In the days following the mistrial declaration, some of the female jurors spoke out against Desronvil, who was still completely unknown to the public. While none of these interviews reflected a solid moral analysis, they did cause many to speculate about who this heroic man who remained firm in his decision was — and who did so for many days. It seemed as though many believed he was an older white man who was a diehard MAGA supporter.
The jurors in favor of acquitting Clancy spent dozens of minutes, in some cases up to an hour, discussing their views on the case and of Desronvil in various media interviews. They often complained about his inability to see their point of view. In one instance, a juror complained that Dresronvil “had the hardest time getting off the fact that Lindsay viciously killed her children.” How dare he!
Dresronvil could have rightfully spoken at great length about the deliberations, hit back at his critics, and shared his views on the matter. Instead, he simply thanked God for having given him the Catholic faith and drew attention to the children. This is humility in action and a fantastic witness to the Gospel.
The prosecution has pledged to re-try the case and seek justice for “the angels,” as Dresronvil calls them, who, again, tragically died at the hands of their own mother. Judge Sullivan has already denied the defense’s motion to prohibit a re-trial. Whether the prosecution will re-try the case on the same charges or lessen the charges in the hopes of an easier guilty verdict, remains to be seen. In either case, what we have all just witnessed is an inspiring example of how to defend the truth despite being the only one. May God reward Michael Desronvil for his courage.
