When Fr. Maximilian Kolbe warned Freemasons they were ‘secretly governed’ by a ‘Jewish clique’

Many Catholics today are unaware of his writings on the subject.

Explosive — that is the first word that comes to mind when describing the following previously unpublished essay on Freemasonry and the Jews written by the now-famous Polish Catholic friar Fr. Maximillian Kolbe (1894–1941). 1

Many Catholics today are not familiar with Fr. Kolbe’s writings on Judaism. However, prominent public figures such as Fr. James Mawdsley have drawn attention to what he taught on the subject. Fr. Mawdsley’s plea is no different than our own: namely, to promote the full range and historical context of his life and writings. Catholics who obfuscate or, worse, distort Fr. Kolbe’s political and religious views because they are inconvenient for contemporary Jewish-Catholic relations only diminish his memory.

Dr. Karl Radl has offered compelling evidence against the mainstream account of Fr. Kolbe’s death while he was a prisoner during World War II. His dispassionate style and thorough research on the topic are refreshing. In due time, the questions and irregularities that surround the circumstances of Kolbe’s death need to be acknowledged and answered by mainstream historians. Until such a time, both well-founded doubts and less credible rumors will continue to circulate, casting suspicion on the popular and prevailing account of his passing.

On September 12, 2025, Hollywood released a movie on Kolbe’s life titled The Triumph of a Heart. It presented the sanitized version of Fr. Kolbe in such a way as to omit his fierce opposition to Jewish power and its conspiratorial designs. Again, many Catholics are wholly unaware he held such views.

In 1926, Kolbe issued a dire call to Polish Freemasons warning them that they are being controlled by a vast Jewish “clique” that not only “hates” but “secretly” governs them.

In his letter, Kolbe favorably cited the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, a document which has been relentlessly attacked for decades by Jewish sources such as the Holocaust Encyclopedia as an “antisemitic book used to promote hatred of Jews.”

For those seeking an objective analysis of that document, the aforementioned Karl Radl — though not a Catholic — has published a penetrating monograph entitled The Protocols of Zion: Myth, Libel and Fact.

Below is the full text of Fr. Kolbe’s essay addressed to Polish Freemasons titled Okpieni, or “The Dupes,” published in the September 1926 edition of his Knights of the Immaculate newsletter.

The Dupes

The newspapers carried the following news in the first days of August:

An international congress of Freemasons took place in Bucharest recently, with the participation of representatives of Masonic organizations from the United States, Poland, Italy, Czechoslovakia, Austria, and Romania. This year’s congress noted, among other things, that Freemasonry plays a particularly significant role in Poland, where a number of prominent members of the current government are members of a Masonic lodge. Freemasonry is also developing very successfully in other countries.

These gentlemen think they rule; meanwhile, let’s listen to what the “Protocols of the Elders of Zion” write. Protocol 11 says:

This is the program of the new constitution being prepared. We will create and execute laws and governments: 1) in the form of projects submitted to the legislative body, 2) with the help of presidential decrees in the form of general provisions, senate rulings, resolutions of the state council, ministerial decisions, 3) and at the appropriate moment — in the form of a coup d’état.

Having more or less established the modus operandi, we will deal with the details of those combinations by which we are to change the operation of the state machinery in the direction mentioned. These combinations are: freedom of the press, the right of association, freedom of conscience, the principles of the electoral system, and many other symptoms that must disappear from the repertoire of humanity in order to undergo a fundamental change the day after the announcement of the new constitution. Only at that moment will we be able to announce all our resolutions, because after that any changes will be dangerous. And here are the reasons: if these changes are introduced ruthlessly and in the direction of rigor and restrictions, it may cause an outburst of despair, caused by the fear of new changes in the same direction. If, however, this change is made in the direction of new concessions, then it may be said that we have admitted weakness, which will undermine the authority of the steadfastness of the new government — or it may create the belief that we have been seized by fear and are forced to make concessions for which no one will be grateful to us, because they will be considered due… Both of these would be detrimental to the authority of the new constitution. It is necessary that from the moment of its proclamation, the nations, stunned by the accomplishment of the coup, still under the influence of terror and uncertainty — understand that we are so strong, so untouchable, so full of power, that we will in no case reckon with the nations and not only will we pay no attention to their judgment and wishes, but we are even ready and able with unconquerable force to crush their expression and manifestation at any moment and in any place, that we have taken at once everything we considered necessary and will in no case share our power. Then out of fear they will close their eyes to everything and will wait to see what comes of it.

The goyim are a flock of sheep, and we are wolves to them, and you know what happens to sheep when wolves sneak into the fold. They will close their eyes even more because we promise to return all their freedoms after we have defeated the enemies of peace and defeated all parties. Is it worth mentioning how long they will wait for this return?

For what other purpose did we devise and impose this entire policy on the goyim, without giving them the opportunity to examine its content? If not to achieve by a roundabout route what is simply inaccessible to our scattered tribe? This served as the foundation for our organization of secret Freemasonry, which is unknown, and for purposes whose existence these goyim — the goyim — who we lure into the ranks of the army of ‘show’ Masonic lodges, existing to pull the wool over the goyim’s eyes.

Have you heard, gentlemen Masons? Those who organized you and secretly govern you, the Jews 2, they consider you to be beasts, lured into Masonic lodges for purposes you do not even suspect, to pull the wool over the eyes of the goyim.

Who is seeking to multiply Masonic lodges?

Protocol 15 states: “Meanwhile, until we take power, we will create and multiply Masonic lodges in all the countries of the world. We will draw into these lodges all future and present outstanding activists, because these lodges will be the central point of information and center of influence.”

And who actually directs the activities of the lodges?

We will submit all lodges to a single board, known only to us, composed of our wise men. The lodges will have a representative who will mask this central board of Freemasonry and announce slogans and programs. In these lodges, we will forge a bond with all revolutionary and freethinking elements. They will be composed of representatives of all social classes. The most secret political projects will be known to us and subject to our leadership from the moment of their founding. The members of the lodges will include almost all agents of the national and international police, because their cooperation is indispensable to us. The police have the power not only to deal with those who resist in their own way, but also to conceal our works, create causes for discontent, etc..

The people who most willingly join secret societies are usually career swindlers and generally reckless people, with whom it will not be difficult for us to conduct business. They will set in motion the mechanism of the machine we have invented. If confusion arises in this world, it will mean that we needed to confuse it, so that its excessive solidarity would break down. If, however, a conspiracy arises within this world, then at the head of it will stand no one other than the most orthodox of our servants. It is natural that we 3 , and not anyone else, will direct the affairs and activities of Freemasonry, because we know where we are leading, we know the ultimate goal of each action, whereas they do not know where, they do not even know the immediate results: they are usually concerned only with the momentary satisfaction of their ambition in carrying out projects. They do not know that the project itself was not born of their initiative, but thanks to our submission of the appropriate thought.

The goyim join lodges, some driven by curiosity or the hope of gaining a share in the social pie, others to gain the opportunity to publicly express their unattainable and baseless dreams. These long for applause and the emotion that success brings, and which we do not spare them. We do not deny them this success for the benefit of the resulting arrogance and conviction of their own worth. With the help of these factors, people subtly take on board our commands, not guarding themselves in their conviction that infallibility produces their own thoughts but does not take on those of others. You cannot even imagine how easy it is to lead the most intelligent goyim to unconscious naivety as long as they are convinced of their own worth, and at the same time how easy it is to deprive them of self-confidence and reduce them to complete submission by the slightest failure, even the lack of applause, as soon as they are assured of new success. While our people disregard success to carry out a given plan, the goyim are ready to neglect all plans for temporary success.

The above psychology of the goyim makes our task of managing them much easier. Thanks to us, they have mounted the horse of dreams about the absorption of human individuality by the symbolic unit of collectivism. They have not yet understood and will never understand the idea that ‘collectivism’ 4 constitutes a blatant violation of the most important laws of nature, which from the beginning of the world has created individuals unlike others, with the very goal of individuality in mind. If we were able to drive them to such mad blindness, does this not demonstrate with astonishing clarity the extent to which the mind of the goyim is not humanly developed compared to ours! This circumstance is for us the main guarantee of success.”

And do you know, gentlemen Masons, what awaits you on the day you would like to start thinking for yourselves? Listen. The continuation of this protocol says:

Death is the inevitable end of every life. It is better to hasten the end of those who hinder our cause than of us who are its creators.

We will execute Masons in such a way that no one, except the brothers, will be able to guess, not even the victims themselves: they all die at the moment when it is necessary, apparently from normal diseases. Knowing this, even the brothers will not dare to protest. By employing similar means, we have torn out from Freemasonry every germ of protest against our decrees. By preaching liberalism to the goyim, we are simultaneously keeping our people and our agents in the bond of unconditional obedience.

Gentlemen Masons, you who recently rejoiced at the Congress in Bucharest that Freemasonry is developing, think about it and say honestly, is it not better to serve the Creator in inner peace, in joyful love, than to obey the orders of the mysterious, insidious, unknown, cruel Jewish clique that hates you?

And to you, the small handful of Jews, the “wise men of Zion,” who, hidden by God’s permission, to test the faithful and virtuous, have consciously caused so many misfortunes and are preparing even more, I turn with a question: What will come of this? Even supposing that the foretold moments of the Antichrist’s reign are near, that you prepare the way for him, let each of you ask yourself: What will come of this? … Piles of gold, joy, pleasures, power — all this still doesn’t make a person happy. And even if it did bring happiness, how long will it last? Several dozen years, or perhaps a dozen, a few, or even less … We don’t know when the cycle of life will break … And then? …

Would it not be better for you Polish Masons, deceived by a handful of Jews, and for you Jewish leaders who have allowed yourselves to be seduced by the enemy of humanity, Satan, to turn sincerely to God, to acknowledge the Savior Jesus Christ, to love the Immaculate and, under her banners, to win souls for Her? … Do you prefer to belong to that head of the serpent entwining the world, about which it was said, “She will crush your head”?

While you are alive there is still time, but soon it may be too late!!!…
